Marian Carter is a designer and artist who graduated from Middlesex
University in the early 1980s. She has worked on her own and for a number of
companies in a range of areas such as book illustration, card design and, more
recently, printmaking.
She uses a number of
different methods to produce original prints. These include etching, drypoint,
monoprinting, screenprints and collagraphs. However, for the past few years she has
concentrated mainly on reduction linocuts. Her inspiration comes from a wide
variety of sources but she is particularly attracted to the natural world and
finds reduction linocutting a particularly effective method for portraying
feather and fur.
