About Maria Gurikhina

Biography

I believe that art is a language that has no time limits, one that conquers hearts and souls, the one that can unite humanity. Even more for me art is more than just a way of communication; it is my breath and light even through deepest water and darkest times. I cannot imagine my life without it.

My art path has started already from early childhood and has grown and professionalized via studies, collaborations, residences and many more.  I ve never gave up on it no matter what other people told me. I have a middle and high education in arts which gives me the freedom to express myself however I want.

My art grew and became more mature as I am. I try to find the unusual in the common, in order to express a psychological world of personality through surrealistic forms. My art is about feeling the surrounding reality through the variety of symbols.

I developed my own graphic mixed media technique and style as long as work in such printmaking techniques as lithography and etching. It's such a delightfully amazing world!

I am a prize winning artist with many exhibitions behind by back. My artworks have travelled all around the world and some of them even have found new homes in public museum’s collections.

All and all art is the best adventure of my life and I am happy to share this path with you.
