About Louise Collis

  • Biography
A plein air painter originally from the Welsh Valleys. I graduated from Bath Spa University in 1998. I then spent time working full time in Bath and Wales as well as producing artwork and promoting myself as an illustrator and then a landscape artist, taking part in group exhibitions and exploring themes and techniques.

I now work full time as an artist and paint everyday, usually outdoors whatever the weather or from my studio in Abergavenny.

Based in South Wales with the beautiful mountains, industrial villages and a fantastic coastline on my door step, I am inspired by the changing colours, light and history of the landscape.

I take my painting kit everywhere and can often be found sat on a hillside or cliff painting on a sunny day or inside my car/studio on a rainy day.
