About Lina Avramidou

  • Biography
Lina Avramidou is a London based artist working primarily in Printmaking and Book Arts. She experiments with image, structure and form to create handmade, limited edition, sculptural bookworks and prints. Utilising traditional printmaking techniques, combined with experimental bookbinding and papermaking, the dialogue between the idea and the process becomes intrinsic to the conceptual development of the work. Her work explores notions of memory, place and time. Taking inspiration from the urban and natural landscape and more specifically from processes of decay, abandonment, erosion and the wear of time. Through mark-making, Avramidou attempts to create abstracted narratives of the embedded history and archeology of surfaces and structures, looking at the connection and interplay between past and present, what is lost and what remains. She exhibits regularly in the UK and abroad and her work is found in several private and public collections internationally.
