About Svetlana Kochergina

I started oil painting at the age of 14, I saw plots in the color spots and it made me different from everyone I knew. 10 years later I go to study Fine Arts at Sorbonne University in Paris. After graduating I teach oil painting and contemporary art history and continue to create. Nowadays my figurative works address the notion of myth in postmodern society and combine romantic and skeptical, dreamlike and dramatic, gloomy and optimistic moods. These pictures have layers of meaning: political, social, ethical or philosophical.
