  • Biography
I began sculpting in 2006.  I am intensely interested in people and what makes them tick. I always enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their stories and experiences of life. With each piece of work, my aim is to convey the unique character of each sitter and to evoke feelings of recognition and empathy in the viewer. I work predominately in clay, which is then kiln-fired. I then decide whether to apply a coloured patina to the sculpture, depending on the nature of the piece. Some pieces are fixed to a plinth for display; others will be free-standing. My favourite method of working is from life, at a fairly fast pace, without the risk of over-working the piece!

In addition to sculpting people, I have recently started working on small animal sculptures, which I am then casting in limited editions. I am also a linocut printmaker and oil painter, with a particular interest in animals and nature.

Thank you for visiting my shop and for your interest in my work.
