Biography
My work explores how memory and emotion transform the way we experience the world around us. Rather than reproducing what I see, I use recognisable subjects as a starting point, allowing them to move between representation and abstraction.
Working primarily with oils and acrylics, I build my paintings through layers of colour and texture, using expressive brushwork and palette knife techniques. My process is intuitive: forms develop and change as I work, often becoming looser and less defined.
I am influenced by Impressionism and inspired by colour, light, nature, travel and everyday observations. Increasingly, I am drawn to freedom and spontaneity in painting — capturing not simply what I have seen, but the feeling and impression that remain with me.
