About Tian Gan

I am born and raised in Chongqing, China. Imoved to Stockholm, Sweden in 2010 and started my business in 2012, working as a freelance printmaker and graphic designer. 

I work primarily with relief printing. Simply put, after I make an initial pencil sketch, I carve the design into the block, ink it with a roller, then print it onto the paper. All my illustrations are carved and printed by hand in my studio on Lidingö, an island in Stockholm archipelago. 

I am inspired by interesting people and their stories. I like paradoxes and things that seem just a little out of place. Making illustrations is my way of exploring the city where I live.
