About Eduardo Blanco

Biography

I am a contemporary figurative painter based in Spain. My work focuses primarily on the human figure, especially the face, as a place where light does more than describe form — it suggests inner states and quiet tensions. My approach is perceptual rather than conceptual. I begin from direct observation, allowing tonal transitions, light and surface to guide the image beyond simple representation. I am interested in the balance between realism and controlled abstraction: realism offers structure and grounding, while subtle disruption creates emotional resonance. I have been painting for many years and have exhibited both in Spain and internationally. My work is currently represented by a gallery in Barcelona, and I continue to expand my practice through exhibitions and independent projects. I work primarily with oil and acrylic, while continuously refining my practice through the exploration of new materials and techniques. Surface and texture play an important role in my paintings — not as decorative elements, but as a way to generate tension and visual intensity. I am drawn to Artfinder because it offers a curated platform where original work and individual artistic voices are valued. I appreciate the opportunity to connect directly with collectors who are interested in meaningful, handmade painting, and to make my work accessible to an international audience while maintaining artistic integrity. For me, painting is not about illustrating ideas. It is about constructing images that can sustain their own presence — images that hold attention through light, structure and contained energy.
