About Dal Kaur

  • Biography
Anything that reminds me of good moments, food and warm holiday vibes. Especially as someone who suffers from chronic illnesses, art has always kept me going on days when my health flares, I simply open my sketchbook in bed and forget the reason why I'm unable to move sometimes, to days where I'm dancing with my paintbrush on canvas. I always tend to use a florescent pink wash as my first layer to remind me there is colour in life and it carries throughout my work with my rich and vibrant still life paintings. Some of my paintings revolve around the subject of pastries, as a coeliac I'm unable to source amazing pastries in regular grocery stores and some days I'm fighting symptoms which I never knew I would face but I take that all in my stride and instead paint the most flakiest looking croissant. Art gives me a positive perspective in life and its one of the reasons why I still carry on, it has always been my anchor in good times and always in my dark times. I hope to sell on Artfinder and find people who connect with my art and would enjoy it for themselves, as I enjoy the most simplest moments of chewing on a gluten free croissant.
