About Chrissie Havers

Biography

Hello. My name is Chrissie Havers.
I have been painting for many years and would say that mostly I am self taught. I have a degree in English from TCD Dublin, but no fine art degree!
I have exhibited in various galleries both local and further afield.
Currently I am with Cambridge Contemporary Art and also Art in East Anglia Gallery in Bury St Edmunds Suffolk.
I have had work exhibited with the SWA at the Mall Galleries London and also with Chelsea Art Society.
As a member of Cambridge Open Studios I show work 2 weekends each July. The COS website gives details.

Living in a rural area the landscape is my main inspiration.
Ever since I was a child, I felt a keen appreciation of a ‘view’. I was brought up in a country setting so this probably enforced that sense of admiration.
Colour is the driving force in my work.  I really enjoy putting together colour systems that ‘sing’ and landscape paintings particularly provide endless inspiration for this experimenting.
I find that viewers enjoy the playful nature of the different colour system, and react positively.
Thankyou for looking at my artwork.
