About Bryn Humphreys

  • Biography

I’ve been painting since 2004. My studio occupies the two rooms at my home. These two rooms have recently been re-developed as a studio and galley which I open up by appointment and also for the annual Open Studios event here on Anglesey where people can drop in, have a cuppa and chat about my work and buy original work and giclee prints.

I primarily paint landscape paintings of the coast of Anglesey and the mountains of Snowdonia in Gwynedd (North Wales) using acrylic and watercolour and never tire of the range and diversity of the subject matter at hand. For such a small area, it sure packs a lot in.

In 2009, 2012 and 2018, I was shortlisted for inclusion in the Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize and was exhibited as part of the resulting exhibitions. The latest entry for the drawing prize entitled ‘Pentre Pella’, a painting of a village on the slopes of Holyhead Mountain, was recently purchased by the National Library of Wales for its collection.
