This large-scale painting combines a retro feel with a pulp-style cinemascope scene. What's going on? Is it a bank robbery, a gangster shootout, or a movie scene? And is the shooter wearing a mask or does he have the head of a bull terrier? Who is the pin-up girl with him? Is she his lady or a scared hostage?
I wanted to give a strong sense of depth to the composition, combined with a strong dynamism, setting the action in an urban context with warm tones, up to the color of the sky, yellowish to give a sense of torrid heat.
