“Zénobie” is an opus of the “En Majesty” series. It represents Zenobia, ancient queen of Palymire who opposed the power of Rome. She proclaimed her son emperor and take herself the title of empress. The outcome of the war was not favorable to her and she was taken prisoner and paraded captive during the triumph of Marcus Aurelius. The chain represents his captivity while his coat evokes his rebellious and warrior character.
