This painting is about the unique atmosphere you can experience when walking among the bogland grasses in Ireland at dusk.

At first, your eye is attracted by the spectacle in the big sky that shows off the inner glow of the cloud soon to disappear as night falls. In turn, the cumulus casts some shadows on the bogland, highlighting grasses here and there.

Then you notice the thin blue veil that permeates the scene and blurs the horizon line.

It's a quiet time, ripe for contemplation. It's a time when you can feel the interconnection with nature, hence the title, ' You Are Everything'.

To achieve the cloud's inner glow and the sense of balance in the painting, I built up layer upon layer of glazes of transparent paint.

I was waiting for each layer of cobalt, manganese and violets to dry over an initial under painting of red to allow the light to pass through, hit the red under paint and bounce back.

With this process, the colours shifted to rich purples and blues while giving the cloud a depth of colour, a luminous quality that glows from the inside out.

This painting is ready to hang. The edges, painted white, are 1.75" deep so framing is not required. All paintings are varnished to add a protective coat against dust.

Only the highest quality archival fine art grade oil paints are used on the surface gessoed and prepared by myself.

Packing: all work is packed professionally using protective compressed foam boards 2 cm deep so that your painting arrives safely.
