While creating this acrylic painting, I aimed to capture a fleeting moment of clarity and stillness in an autumn valley. The towering cliffs converse with the calm water below, while the golden and burnt-orange trees glow like lingering warmth, reflected on the surface. Through symmetry and reflection, I wanted viewers to feel both the grandeur of nature and an inner sense of calm, as if time itself had slowed.
I took advantage of acrylic paint’s versatility, alternating between dry and wet applications to build the structural solidity of the mountains. In the foreground, horizontal strokes and areas of reserve create fluid reflections and spatial depth. By contrasting cool-toned cliffs with warm autumn foliage, I maintained visual tension within an overall sense of balance and stability.
