Original artwork description
Quinces are strange fruit; like over-sized pears, lumpy and mottled, yet with a unique perfume that fills a room; inedible raw, they cook down into a delicious jelly. And they also seems to provide an echo back to the past, alongside other nearly forgotten fruits such as medlars and damsons.
I placed these two quinces on a damask cloth next to a silver bowl, and let everything else fall off into darkness; I wanted them to glow.
