ABOUT THE ART WORK
The painting depicts a calm marina on a warm, sunny day. At the center of the composition are moored sailboats with tall masts, rising in vertical lines into the blue sky. These slender masts create rhythm and lend a sense of lightness and height to the work. The foreground is dominated by a smooth surface of water with deep blue and turquoise hues. The boats' hulls and masts are reflected in the water—the reflections are painted with loose, slightly broken brushstrokes, creating a gentle ripple effect. Light plays on the surface of the water, adding vibrancy and movement to the painting. To the left, the edge of the embankment is visible, illuminated by the sun. Warm ochre and golden hues contrast with the cool palette of the water and sky. This accent of light enhances the feeling of a clear, warm day. The boats are painted in light cream, white, and wood tones. Certain details—lifebuoys, gunwale, and rigging elements—add realism and depth. In the background, the silhouettes of buildings and other vessels can be discerned, slightly blurred by the haze, creating perspective and space.
The painting is executed in a loose, impressionistic style with a noticeable texture to the brushstrokes. It conveys an atmosphere of peace, summer warmth, and a quiet seaside atmosphere—a moment when time seems to slow down near the water.
