Xochi in Bloom is a reflection of the untapped strength, radiance, and potential within all of us. This piece speaks to quiet moments of growth and transformation, those times when we begin to step into who we truly are, embracing both our vulnerability and our chaos. I chose lilac tones for their emotional pull; they take me back to childhood thunderstorms, those sudden summer bursts that brought wonder, electricity, and joy. The swirling petals and sculptural brushstrokes act as a metaphor for the wild, untamed beauty we each carry inside, a reminder that, like nature, we are always shifting, always becoming. Influenced by the vibrant colour and movement of Van Gogh and the spirit of impressionism, my marks follow a rhythmic, almost musical flow, like echoes of memory across a canvas. Xochi in Bloom is a celebration of the inner garden we each carry, full of colour, complexity, and love, waiting to bloom.
