Inspired by woodland walks that I did with my labrador when I was a young lad,when I lived in England.I often saw these colourful birds camouflaged by the rotting leaf matter.
This painting was finalist in the Telegraph acrylic artist of the year 2016,inwhich I was voted "the publics choice" winner.
An art critics review,following an exhibition in Toulouse,France" Julians' ability to bring realism to has work is astounding;More than photorealism, he paints what the human eye sees when viewing his subjects in real life. His use of light and shade,to create form,is second to none."
