One of the oldest golf clubs in Surrey in the United Kingdom. Founded in the late c19 by a group of barristers from London, as there was nowhere to play near London. It was convenioent to get to Woking from London even in those days, and its popularity grew. if you look at the list of captains, many were from the judiciary and many were judges
One claim to fame is that Woking had a captain who was a sitting prime minister, Arthur Balfour 1902-5
The pond in the foreground was part of the original farm on which the club was laid out
