Original artwork description
Whilst driving to the east coast for a camping trip, I was struck by this hidden gem of a wood with the early afternoon sun flooding through the treetops and stopped to make colour sketches.
For the finished work, painted back in my studio, I started with a burnt sienna ground which I left to shine through across the painting.
