Original artwork description:

The inspiration was Jacques Prévert's poem "Déjeuner Du Matin" which is one of my favourite poems, but it is very sad! The poem works so much better in French, but this was just the inspiration.

Without A Word

HOW COULD IT COME TO THAT
HE PUT THE COFFEE IN THE CUP
HE PUT THE MILK IN THE CUP OF COFFEE
WITHOUT A WORD TO ME
WITHOUT A LOOK AT ME
HE LIT A CIGARETTE
SMALL ACTIONS THAT ARE BIGGER THAN THE WORLD
HE GOT UP
AND HE LEFT IN THE RAIN
WITHOUT A WORD
WITHOUT A LOOK AT ME
AND I TOOK MY HEAD IN MY HAND
AND I CRIED

Unfortunately any UK buyers will have to pay VAT at 20%, I'm really sorry about that.

Materials used:

acrylic on canvas
