A few years ago, I went to a beautiful place in the mountains. To get to the summit, it takes about 4 hours by car. The moment I arrived at the top of the mountains was a surreal experience. From the summit, you could see all the mountain-top formations around. There was no end in sight. It felt as if I was in an infinite space, which was a fascinating experience. I felt so close to the sky. I felt I could touch the clouds. There was a special moment when I was looking at other mountains, the clouds and a beautiful tree. In this moment, I felt so connected to everything that it seemed as if everything I was seeing, smelling and touching became one with me. This piece is about that moment where it felt almost like a religious experience where I was connecting with nature on a deeper level, becoming one with everything else. With this artwork, I intend for the viewer to connect with what is being seen, and through the painting to feel the majesty of nature. In the painting, you can see a series of mountains while the viewer is situated at the top of another. There is a tree standing strong and offering some company to the viewer. On the top right, some clouds are moving towards the center. Everything comes together with the viewer to have that moment of connection and to become one. The name of the artwork is based on these ideas. However, it also comes from a line in the song Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin that reads "When all are one" with a slight change from the word "are" to "become". This song is about spiritual experiences that intertwine with nature. It felt appropriate to me to add another layer to the name and connect it to another form of art that describes these spiritual experiences.
