- Winter’s First Light
Original artwork description
This work is part of a series exploring the profound silence found at high altitudes. I wanted to capture the moment when the world falls away, leaving only the wind and the mountains. The central evergreen stands as a 'sentinel' - a witness to the passing of time and the changing light. By using a palette knife, I’ve tried to give the viewer a sense of the mountain's physical weight, contrasted against the fleeting, soft light of a winter sky.
