Winter Solstice 2020 COVID Year is the continuation of a painting series painted on or around the Summer and Winter Solstices and Spring and Autumn Equinox of each year. He is inspired by Robert Motherwell's series of "Elegy to the Spanish Republic" paintings. He uses a repeated color palette and design for each of the paintings in the series. He has worked on these paintings on the actual dates for each of the four season changes each year since 2019.
