I was struck by the quiet simplicity of the field, farm buildings and telegraph poles with their delicate cable. The ploughed field was so dark in contrast to the blue intensity of the sky that morning. The sinuous shapes of the water lying in the puddles created by a tractor struck me also and their reflection of the blue sky. They helped me to explore the space of the field in front of me. I sought to simplify the beauty of this vision and share it through the painting.
