Auvergne landscape, France.
In painting this landscape of the Mézenc massif, my true inspiration was the striking contrast between the warmth of the afternoon light and the coolness of the shadows. I was fascinated by how the low sun caressed the pine bark with orange tones and illuminated the snow with rosy reflections, while every hollow and cast shadow plunged into a vibrant, icy blue-violet. It was this silent conversation between warmth and cold, revealing the palette of winter, that I wanted to capture on my canvas.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows it to be hung without a frame, should you wish.
Materials used:
