Winter Abscission (2024)Etchings & engravings
by Fiona Hamilton
£195
Artwork description
Drypoint etching original print with chine collé. Winter Abscission is the term for the seasonal shedding of leaves.
I encountered this tree in Winter on a cold crisp day in the beautiful Ashton Court Estate. It caught my eye and held my attention. A bright winters day casting harsh shadows and with brightly illuminated highlights on the branches. I used the sheen of the chine collé to emphasise this. As with all handprinted work, real life experiences are vastly more beautiful.
Materials used:
Hahnemühle paper 300gsm, Gampi paper 12gsm, Charbonnel ink
Details:
- Etchings & engravings on Paper
- From a limited edition of 20
- Size: 32 x 44cm (unframed) / 20 x 30cm (actual image size)
- Signed and numbered on the back
- Style: Impressionistic
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
