Original artwork description
Original mixed media painting by Susana Zárate BA (Hons)
Pan pastel on Fabriano paper 12" x 16"
Framed size 15x19 inches
Image of a child monk. Tibetans, in general, seemed to think that children should enter the monastery as young as possible. Traditionally children were the age of 7 or 8, when they would join the monastery.
Now the situation has changed, the chinese law prevents children from becoming monks at an early age. Is it for the better or worse? There are valid arguments on both sides.
This is a painting inspired by my admiration for Tibetan culture
Susana Zarate BA (Hons), works with a range of mediums and subjects from figurative, nudes, and animal portraits using oil and watercolours to abstract and semi-abstract landscapes using acrylics and mixed media.
