I often take my Plein air group out in town to paint. I find the towns along the Sierra Mountain foothills fantastic to paint. These towns were built during the California gold rush. Most of the buildings are protected and have historic meaning ranging some simple cabins to elaborate victorians. Here in this painting I have a couple anticipating the gifts they might want for the Holidays.
