Original title: September 1st, Wind over the Mézenc Massif
Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.
That day, on the Mézenc massif, I was seized by the breath of the wind. The vast sky was a theater of moving clouds, allowing a soft, changing light to filter down onto the high plateaus.
The volcanic rock stood, a witness to time, while the slopes rolled as far as the eye could see in a palette of ochres and wild greens. It is a rugged landscape, shaped by the elements, where beauty is born from this raw power and immense solitude. You feel small here, and at the same time, deeply connected to what is essential.
The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
