This is from Meuzac (Haute, Vienne France), just under an hour from where I live. The hillsides are filled with blue grass and heather which creates a spectacular combination of colours, but the main focus of this painting are these small stonecrop sedum flowers, hitting the sunshine and growing from the tops of the mossy rocks.

It is painted in an impressionist style on canvas mounted to board, and has been left for a year before being varnished.

Materials used:

Oil paints (Rembrandt, Old Holland, Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, lefranc & bourgeois)
