Inspired by a wild flower meadow at Sezincote House in the Cotswolds, this is a mixed-media painting on canvas. I loved the way that the lilac seed heads gently swayed in the warm breeze.

While scabious is traditionally tied to sorrowful love, it also represents healing, warmth and peace. Beneficial ecologically, it’s a wonderful wildflower for pollinators and meadow biodiversity. In this painting I love the way that the stems draw the eye upwards.

This painting is signed and titled on the back, comes strung with picture cord, and is all ready to hang straight on your wall.

Materials used:

Acrylic, ink and silver leaf
