Acrylic on gilded panel, sealed with multiple layers of high gloss varnish. The edges are painted pewter so can be hung as it is, or could be framed if desired.
I tend to avoid high gloss varnish as it's very difficult to photograph, but it does accentuate the metal leaf surface and the transparent colours, I was really pleased how it came out in this case.
This was an experimental painting using large stencils and transparent colours on a smallish format, as with most experiments - when you are very laid back about the outcome, it comes out just great.
