Who Watches Whom?
Are you watching the feed, or is the feed watching you?
A morning cup of coffee has become one of the most familiar rituals of contemporary life. Before conversations begin and before the day fully unfolds, many of us reach for a screen. We scroll through images, stories and carefully curated fragments of other people's lives, believing ourselves to be observers.
Yet observation today is rarely one-sided.
Behind every click, pause and reaction, digital systems quietly record our habits, preferences and emotions. While we watch, we are also being watched. The boundaries between observer and observed become increasingly blurred.
In Who Watches Whom?, the coffee cup becomes a symbolic portal into the digital world. The eyes emerging from its surface suggest multiple layers of attention, surveillance and self-reflection. The binary code surrounding the scene evokes the invisible technological structures that shape our daily experiences.
The work invites viewers to reflect on a simple question that has become increasingly relevant in the digital age: when we enter the endless stream of information each morning, who is truly watching whom?
