I painted this piece to capture the quiet, romantic atmosphere of a Parisian winter evening. The Eiffel Tower stands in the soft glow of city lights outside the window, symbolizing the spirit of Paris, while inside, a cup of tea, an open book, candlelight, and a delicate dessert reflect peace and the poetry of everyday life.
I used a contrast of warm and cool tones to evoke emotion, employing wet-on-wet techniques to render the reflections and hazy glass, and added impasto and pointillism for the festive sparkle of lights. I intentionally softened outlines, letting light and color carry the emotional weight and memory within the scene
