Every day I drive along Devon country lanes, the foliage swooshing & whispering against the car & the fragrant breeze brushing against my face.
The hedgerows are a never ending source of inspiration, changing daily as plants bloom & dry & are replaced by new growth.
I often pull up in a wider section, just to take a moment to listen to the rustle of the undergrowth & watch birds & insects, a vole, a pheasant or if I’m really lucky a little dormouse or tiny weasel scurrying around.
These narrow borders between road & field are such a diverse environment & for so many years I’ve thought of painting them or doing a whole series of hedgerows through the seasons,
Whispers has a calm, misty quality, which resonates with the peace of nature. It brings natures colours, relaxation & soothing atmosphere into it's space.
