Artwork description
A three dimensional space of calm and wonder. My favourite woodland almost whispers and sighs as the leaves rustle and the wind whistles through. Within its canopy the vast expanse of trees helps creates a mysterious eerie sound with its creaking branches, soulful bird sound, rustling leaves and scurrying vertebrates. All this and more inspired me to produce my etching and name it Whispers and Sighs.
To produce this image I worked on two copper plates using the process of hard ground and sugar lift aquatint.
Materials used:
oil based printing ink and Somerset Satin paper
