This is one of a series of paintings that I created back in 2016 for a project in New York, the project didn't happen and the paintings just got rolled up and put in a corner. The dimensions were specific, not ones I would usually use, so I left a wide border around the paintings so that they could be stretched at larger dimensions. The intended dimensions were 150Hx100Wcm, but they could also be stretched at 160Hx120Wcm.
The collage elements are not really visible from a distance, but add interest at a closer view, I just like bits of collage in a base layer as they add texture and influence a painting without interfering. The text doesn't read in a logical order, which is fine by me, it's not a book, it's the overall feeling of it.
IT COULD BE EVERYTHING
OR NOTHING AT ALL
MAYBE IT DOESN'T MATTER
AT ALL
I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHICH WAY
YOU LOOK AT IT
