Where the River Meets the Mountain is a contemporary landscape painting inspired by an old romantic legend about two lovers transformed into a river and a mountain, forever drawn towards one another.

I wanted to capture the feeling of a love that cannot be separated, with the flowing river moving towards the solid presence of the mountain. The composition combines atmospheric landscape forms with expressive colour and textured areas, creating a sense of movement, emotion and depth.

The painting was created using acrylic paint and stencil techniques, together with areas of raised paint relief. These textured passages give the surface a subtle three-dimensional quality and allow the light to move across the painted surface.

The work is painted on a deep-edge canvas with painted edges, so it has a substantial presence when displayed without a frame. It measures 46 × 61 × 4 cm.

The painting is signed by me on the front and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
