Where the Light Remains is an original oil painting exploring one of the recurring themes in my work — the transformation of landscape through light.

A setting sun dissolves into an intensely textured sky, where turquoise, gold, crimson, violet and blue move across the surface in layers of expressive impasto. Below, the water gathers these colors into broken reflections, while two distant sails introduce a quiet human presence within the vastness of the landscape.

I was interested not in describing a particular coastline, but in capturing the brief moment when recognizable forms begin to disappear into color and atmosphere. The horizon remains, the sails remain, yet much of the landscape is reconstructed through paint itself — through texture, movement and contrasts of warm and cool color.

The heavily worked surface is an essential part of the painting. As the surrounding light changes throughout the day, the raised passages of oil paint catch it differently, allowing the surface to remain visually active even from a distance.

For me, this painting is about the final intensity of light before it disappears — a fleeting moment suspended between movement and stillness.
Medium size stretched painting.
Palette knife art. Impressionism. Realism. Expressionism.
One of a kind artwork.

This artwork will be attached to a stretcher bar and ready to hang without a frame.
