Where the Light Listens
Oil on canvas
60 x 90 cm

There’s a lot of noise in the world right now. A lot of heaviness. So here’s something quieter.

This piece has taken months to complete. Many layers of oil went into it, especially the floor. I slowly built up those honeyed reflections until they felt warm and alive, the way I wanted them.

Music and art have always been a place of steadiness for me when everything else feels loud. A room filled with light. Bare feet on wood. A moment to breathe. a soothing melody.

It isn’t varnished yet, which has made photographing it tricky… the matte areas catch the light in a way that makes parts of it look dull. I’ll share another photo once it’s varnished and the colours deepen properly. I’m just hoping the gloss doesn’t throw too much reflection back at me!

For now, here’s a little pocket of golden light.
