Original artwork description

Full title "When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be" (character limit on site).

This work is a study work for a larger piece and a potentially larger collection around Identity and "Unveiling Assumptions"

This work invites viewers to confront their predispositions, question their judgments, and reflect on the inherent complexity of human identity. By leaving the artwork purposefully unfinished, it challenges the viewer to complete the narrative and encourages a deeper consideration of how we perceive and make assumptions about others based on their appearance, ultimately emphasizing the importance of understanding beyond what meets the eye.

The works is heavily under textured, with raised areas and marks, the background is an expressive work of acrylic paint, oil pastels and spray paint. The portrait itself is painted in oil's and has purposely been left unfinished (my signature style).

This is a portrait of the Korean singer Taemin .

Materials used:

Oil, oil pastels & Acrylic Paint
