Original artwork description
Language is what unites all humanity. Typography is a powerful tool that can bridge the gap between different cultures and languages, the craft of expressing human language in visual form.
The artist's paintings are abstractions based on typography. Using the collage technique, Vita assembles parts of letter fonts from drawn or printed materials into pure abstractions that transform verbal language into a form of visual architecture. Her works are characterized by geometric forms - the interplay of rectangles and rounded lines of font elements - that allow typography to reveal not only its informative but also its representational/pictorial function, creating a new visual language. The resulting works are a play of form and color, lightness and mass, dominance and emphasis, symmetry and asymmetry, inviting the viewer to enjoy the harmony of composition and typographic aesthetics. Thanks for looking!
Mounted on a wooden frame with a 3 cm depth. Sides are finished and ready to hang.
