This is a painting of soft pink hydrangeas, nestled against a layered backdrop of hedgerows, trees, and distant mountains. The painting is created using a richly textured impasto technique, giving the surface depth and movement, while delicate ink drops introduce added detail and visual intrigue.
For this painting I was inspired by a mountain near Monmouth, and the eternal nature of love. To me, hydrangeas symbolise gratitude, grace and beauty. The delicate pink colour also symbolises harmony and peace.
Painted on a box canvas with the imagery wrapping around the edges, this work is painted on a Loxley Gold canvas, which was crafted in the U.K. It is finished with subtle silver leaf highlights that catch the light beautifully. It comes strung at the back, and is ready to hang on your wall.
