As an avid watcher of wildlife documentaries, I often find myself drawn to the colours and patterns of animals and how they compliment or contrast with the landscape around them. In "Change Your Spots" I played around with positive and negative spaces so that the spots are spilling out from the black leopard.
I used acrylic paints, inks and collage. I make my own collage papers by painting on lightweight sheets with layers of professional grade colour. After cutting out shapes with a knife, I glue the pieces onto good-quality paper using archival glue.
