Description: I spent a week wandering around the Seattle area scouting locations for a shoot I’ve been contemplating. Throughout the week I saw some gorgeous lakes and foliage, but I must say that I was particularly captivated by this pond and the dory just made things that much more perfect. I could easily see myself enjoying a quiet morning on the rowboat, taking in all the peace and serenity. I knew the reflections in the water would be an essential component of the overall look and feel of the photo so I returned to this location on multiple occasions waiting for the moment when the water would be as still as possible. Finally, early one morning when the light began streaming through broken clouds and the winds were calm, I set up my tripod and framed the composition. A gentle mist in the air added to the mood. As I snapped my camera’s shutter, I knew I had captured a magical moment that I will always remember.
