Mature beech tree in London Rd Gardens,Edinburgh leans away from the steep bank leading down to London Rd. reaching for the light being blocked by huge chestnut trees on either side. The steep slope behind the tree is the remains of an old sandstone quarry which supplied the stone for Regent Terrace nearby but which was landscaped circa 1870 and became the wooded area known as London Rd Gardens.
