Seascape of Brittany, France.
In this small study, I tried to capture that precise moment when the wave, filled with light, hollows out and reveals its turquoise transparency, just before breaking in an explosion of foam.
It's not a search for detail, but rather an attempt to convey a sensation: the sound of the surf, the power of the water, and the fleeting light of a day by the sea.
The white-finished edges of the canvas allow for frameless hanging if you prefer.
Materials used:
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
